"  STATEMENT ABOUT WORK  " Because of my history of wood working, I really enjoy putting wood & glass together in various combinations, especially lamps & screens. All of the bamboo motifs are carved with a belt sander then hand sanded to a silky finish and coated with natural oil. All of my original designs in glass work are copper foil technique, with some lead work in certain pieces, i.e. "Tissiack". The lamp shades are all slumped glass, i.e. fired to 1100° to create a curved shape then soldered together via the copper foil technique.
